Kate Schuricht’s pieces are conceived as small scale installations, intimately grouped together and emphasising the relationship between the inside and the outside of the containers.

Applying glaze like layers of fabric to partly wrap the ceramics, Kate highlights the qualities of the surfaces and the rough or smooth, matt or shiny finishes. Wrapped, bound or concealed, her ceramic pieces explore ideas of containment and the rituals of collecting and placing special objects.
