Biography

Kate Schuricht graduated from the University of Brighton in 1996 with a degree in Ceramics and Visual Art. After a residential course in Tokoname, Japan, she set up her ceramic studio in Cockpit Arts in London where she worked for nearly 10 years. She left London in 2005 and now works from a studio at her home in Kent.

Kate's ceramics have been exhibited both nationally and internationally, as well as being sold directly to the public at Chelsea Crafts Fair 1998 - 2002 and at the Cockpit Arts Open Studios 1996-2005. She has completed private and public commissions for collections, showcases and installations, including British Airways, Craftspace Touring and Cowley Manor Hotel. Her ceramics have been featured in a number of books and films and she has designed and written projects for the publication 'The Complete Practical Potter' by Anness Publishing.

Kate is also actively involved in business mentoring, lecturing and teaching and will soon be running short courses from her studio. See News and links for up to date information on exhibitions and short courses.

Her raku and stoneware ceramics can be commissioned or bought directly from her studio in Kent (by appointment) or from current exhibitions.
